All about Lashes

Hi loves! Today’s review is all about False lashes. To me lashes are the main if not the most important essential makeup item in my kit.

I have build my lashes army for a long time. I remember having started my “falsies” collection with cheap plasticky lashes from ebay. At that time they did the job for me considering I did not have a healthy knowledge on lashes.

Eyelashes can either make or break your entire makeup look. While making a decision about what lashes are the best for you, A certain number of factors must be considered;

  1. Eye shape
  • For someone with close set, droopy or hooded eye, lashes that start off short on the inner corners and flare out more with more of a wing effect on the outer corners are most suitable. This helps to elongate, lift  and pull the eyes apart making the appearance of a more balanced look.

Suitable lashes include Velourlashes in the style “T dot Ooh” Lenalashes in the style Heidi and Gisele

NB: Highlighting the inner corners of your eyes with a light eyeshadow will also help.

  • For someone with wide set eyes lashes that start and maintain the same or alternate length of hairs across the lash band is most suitable for them. This will help to bring the eyes closer and camouflage the wide gap between the eyes. Lashes that have a wing effect will only accentuate the gap between them and pull the eyes even wider apart.

Suitable lashes include Nulashes in the style “Bella”, Lillylashes in the style “Mykonos” and “Miami” as well as HOL in the style “Iconic”

  1. 2 Eye makeup
  • Some eye looks require thick lashes that will add that extra vava voom to your makeup look. For example a dark smokey eye look goes will with full lashes that will add to the drama while a simple eye look requires somewhat sparse looking lashes that will not overwhelm the eye makeup.

Suitable dramatic full lashes include Lilly lashes in the style “Vegas” and Lenalashes in the style “Bianca”.

  1. 3 Longevity
  • For eyelashes that last a really long time Mink lashes are by far the best ones. Mink lashes come out a bit more expensive than human hairs lashes simply because you get multiple wear out of them. Most mink lashes can be worn upto 25 times while human hairs lashes last 5 wears the most although they come affordable compared to mink lashes.

I will talk about my favorite lashe brands inthe next post. Stay beautiful. Xoxo

    Morphebrushes Review

    Hi loves!

I know ive been MIA for a while. I really took my time to write this post. I wanted to get a good feel of these brushes on how they perform after many times of using and washing them

A beauty junkie like myself is always looking for really good quality brushes at affordable price.

If you havent heard about this company Morphe brushes they have such amazing brushes at a really cheap price. They have different collections like Flawless collection, Gunmetal, Elite collection etc. They have alot of 10% off coupon codes. You can easily google them.

I will start with the Face brushes followed by Eye brushes.

    E3- Precision Pointed Powder
This is a  fluffy round shaped brush with a slight tip at the top. The bristles are oh so soft. I really like to use this brush for blusher and to set my face with powder sparingly. Its not a dense brush therefore works great for those purpose. It reminds me of RT blush brush. It retails for $16.99

    E3- Precision Pointed Blender

    E4- Angled Contour
Like the name its an angled brush while the bristles are round at the top. Some angled brushes are flat top this one definetly isnt. I love how it works well with powder contouring. It is not dense so it picks the right amount of product and deposit on to your skin and allows you to blend the edges of your contour as you move your brush back and forth. When im in a hurry I use this brush to apply blusher. Its kinda time consuming putting down a brush and pick another one when you can one brush for several things. It retails for $13.99

    E2-Round Powder

This is also a face brush. Its bristles are tightly packed compared with those first two I mentioned earlier. I like to use this for bronzing up my face and apply powder foundation evenly. Because its dense it picks alot of product and deposit on to your skin. If you like a full coverage setting powder after foundation this brush is for you! It retails for $19.99

    M501- Pro Pointed Blender

This brush applies highlighter like a dream. Its a small pointed tip brush. The bristles are soft and capable to pick up your product and deposit on your skin without stealing any. I still love using a fan brush to apply my highlighter but this brush has become my favorite highlighter brush. It retails for $7.99

    M501-Pro Pointed Blender

    M557- Mini Detail Contour

Its a round top somewhat flat brush with very dense packed bristles. It reminds me so much of Mac 109. I love using this brush to buff out and blend cream contour seamlessly. I use upward circular motions to blend my cream contour it is does a great job. The only drawback to this brush is that it sheds. You may spend time picking up a few hairs from you face while you blend. I bought 2 of these. Impulse buying you can say. Macdaddy from instagram raved about this brush in his live class tutorials. It retails for $9.99

    m557- Mini Detail Contour

    M438- Pointed Contour

This is a bigger denser version of M501 brush. Its a domed shaped brush with a pointed tip. I like to use this brush to set my cream contour with powder contour. The tip of the brush allow me to get right in my cheekbones and curve them like a pro! Hehe It also works well in setting my under eyes concealer as well as to highlight my the top of my cheekbones. It retails for $9.99

    M438-Pointed Contour

    B8- Badger Deluxe

This is your traditional goat hair fan brush. I was never a big fan of fan brushes (that kinda rhymed) lol. I saw them kinda pointless. But thanks to Macdaddy I learned to use them to apply a soft flush of color on my cheeks. It works well for those really pigmented blusher that you only need a tiny bit of pigment on your cheeks. My favorite way of using a fan brush was to apply highlighter on my cheekbones before I found the M501.

    M441-Pro Firm Blending Crease

This is a white goat hairs round blending brush. If you know me you must know I love my blending brushes. I hate to say this brush has replaced my sigma E35 ($16) blending brush which I have been loving for years. Why? Its softer and cheaper than my sigma one ! It buffs and blends transition colors on the crease seamlessly. One thing about morphe brushes and any other brand, the brushes tend to flare out even more as you use them. It retails for $5.99

    M441, SigmaE35, M441

     M433- Pro Firm Blending Fluff

Another brush which has replaced a high end brand. It reminds me so much of Sigma E25 ($14) n Mac 217 ($25). Again its softer and ofcourse cheaper than my mac and sigma brushes. I use this brush to apply a wash of color on my lid and a more concentrated but blended dark transition color on the crease. Also I have been this brush or the sigma E25 to contour my nose with powder. It retails for $5.99

    M433, M433, Mac217, sigmaE25

    MB23- Round Blender

This is a fluffy round blending brush. The bristles are longer than your average blending brush. It looks like a duo fibre brush but its not. I use it to blend transition colors and blur any harsh lines on my crease. It may be a big blending brush for some people but I have a big crease, small blending brushes dont do it for me. They tend to leave like a line of color on my crease. Because this brush is big it works perfect for me. It retails for $5.99

Let me know if you would like me to review something else along the line. Xoxo

    ARTIST COUTURE- DIAMOND GLOW POWDERS

Hi loves! Today’s review is about Diamond glow powders from  www.artistcouture.com made by Angel Merino from instagram ….. He is a famous celebrity makeup artist who is all about that glowy skin. Recently he released six shades of highlighters which I managed to grab five of them. If you are a highlighter junkie like me these babies are a must HAVE! Well at least some of them.

The diamond glow powders come in a pot containing 6 gm amount of product its a lot for the price of $26.99 you will never run out of them. These highlighters are so finely milled like powder. You can use them on the eyes face lips and body. Everywhere!

They contain: Iron Oxide Red, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Carmine

Indoor light. From left to right : ( Gold digger, Mermaid Fntasy, Conceited, Supernova & Yass )

Indoor light. From left to right : ( Gold digger, Mermaid Fntasy, Conceited, Supernova & Yass )

    1. MERMAID FANTASY This is my favorite highlighter from the line. It looks white in the pot but when applied on the skin it has a beautiful high glow of turquoise with a hint of lime iridescence to it. Think of a mermaid this color is a true mermaid! I think it will suit any skin tone. A word of caution when applying these highlighter be very light hand as you only need a tiny amount. A little goes a long way.

From left to right Gold digger, Mermaid fantasy, Conceited, Supernova & Yass.

Outdoor light. From left to right Gold digger, Mermaid fantasy, Conceited, Supernova & Yass.

    2. GOLD DIGGER This is my second favorite. This powder packs a high glow and light gold iridescence. I think it will look good amazing on light skin tone just because its a light gold iridescence. I would apply this during the day time for that natural glow.

    3. YASS This highlighter packs a subtle glow and light pink iridescence. For people who like a subtle glow on skin this baby is for you. It doesn’t pack on too much pigmentation. A little mix in you lip gloss for that pinky shine will look great.

    4. CONCEITED This powder packs a high rose gold iridescence to the skin. It has gold reflects which look so gorgeous when picture is taken out of focus. I think people with dark skin will definitely love this highlighter. It looks bronzed with gold reflects.

    5. SUPERNOVA This is a limited edition, out of all this color has such a fine powder texture unbelievable. It looks pink in the pot but it packs a high glow and lavender blue iridescence. I don’t see myself using this as a highlighter since the lavender glow on my skin is not a normal skin glow. Maybe for a costume makeup. (Eyes rolling) or mix it up with a gloss even on the eyes for inner corner pop of color. On a black base this highlighter will give a beautiful lavender smokey look.

*Gerard Cosmetics Lip Products* Review and Swatches

Hi loves! So last month I went and purchased a few lip products from the brand named Gerard cosmetics. Its a new brand in the makeup industry. They came up with lip products eyebrow powders and highlihters and what is good about it is that all of their products are cruelty free.
Before I go on to the swatches and what I think about the lip products let me say that this brand is doing a serious brand. I know it can really painful placing your order online and having to wait for weeks to get your stuff. With this brand I was shocked! I placed my order on like monday and I got my package in a week! I have been buying from big brands online and shipping cost is dang high still I never got my package in a week time. Thumbs up for that!

    IMG_8523.PNG
First the lipglosses, I’m really impressed about the quality of these products. They are really really pigmented and smooth. They have a creamy consistency which is just sticky enough to last on your lips for hours. They apply really smooth and spread on the lips evenly. The color range is insane from nudes to intense dark colors. They retail for $24. These babies are are worth every penny.

They have 5 shades in their lipstick collection Nude Tequilla sunrise Fire engine All dolled up and 1995. They retail for $19. I grabbed the nude lipstick out of the whole line because everybody seemed to rave about it and since I’m a nude lippy girl🙈 so why Not? I swear this lipstick is by far the perfect nude shade I have ever owned! It is not too brown not too pink just perfect! It applies smoothly its almost like a satin to matte finish. When I wear this shade it last me for about 5 hours until it fades gracefully as I drink eat and all that stuff.
Overall I am very pleased with this brand I have made another order. Currentlt they have a sale on their website of $45 off use code “GCDeal45”
when you purchase all the 5 lipsticks. There are also several discount codes like “amrezy” “WWLD” “Mannymua” etc for a 25% off your entire order which I think its awesome!

    ✨Favorite Highlighters✨

    Hi myloves!
Today I am going to share with you a few of my favorite highlighters. Being a girl with a combination skin I get really oily around my T zone, but that doest hold me back. Im a sucker for dewy skin. Yes I love that wet look on my face.
I would like to point out that there are highlighters which give a shimmery finish. I’m not a fan of shimmery highlighters in my experience I feel like they accentuate skin pores and those fine lines we all have. Beause of that I have been very picky so I go for highlighters which give me that glowy sheen finish on my skin.

    IMG_7050-0.JPG

My first favorite is estee lauder heatwave highlighter. I love this product omg!!! Its a must have. It has that perfect gold sheen glow on the skin. I have been really enjoying this baby recently.
I know high end products can be really costy but you get what you pay for. This is a badass right here. I know its a limited edition and it was sold for $40 on estee lauder website but I got mine off instagram this lady was kind enough to sell me at a pretty good deal. You can find deals on ebay as well however people tend to over price it. That’s what happens when an item becomes popular. Let me warn you with this highlighter a little goes a long way.

    Here is a closer look

    IMG_6727.JPG

My second favorite is Mac mineralise skinfinish in Soft and gentle. This baby right here is gorgeous as well. It gives a pink gold sheen with a tad of shimmer in it but not too shimmery to accentuate your skin pores or whatsoever. I like to spray abit of mac fix+ on my skin then I apply it with my sigma e35 Tapered highlighter brush or Real techniques setting brush. Perfect!!

My last favorite is Sleek GLO Face and body highlighter in the shade Peach Shimmer. This is a drug store highlighter. Yes not all good stuff have to be high end brands. I know it says shimmer but it is not shimmery at all. It is gorgeous! It leans more on the peach brownish goldish side. I know it doesnt make sense when I try to explain lol you need to see it for yourself. For a price of $9.99 it’s a steal! When I wear this it lasts me for 6 hours! Awesome right!

Below are a swatches of the highlighters.

    MY WISH LIST

    Hi myloves!
I have a pretty expensive wish list which I have decided to share some with you beauties. Like seriously my makeup addiction is driving me cookoo. I have written every item I want and when I get them I will put a BIg FAt Tick of achievement next to them. 😍😂

    IMG_6571.JPG

    1. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Just as the name this foundation gives the most perfect satin lumious finish on your skin without looking wet.
Although I have a very oily skin I do like a dewy look on my face. Ive learned to embrace what I’m blessed with.
This foundation has a good range of shade but mostly light colors, so hopefully I can find a match for my skin. However if you are a really dark skin it may be difficult to get a match because their dark tones arent that dark.

    2. NARS KABUKI ITA BRUSH
I have been looking for a good contour brush for a long time. All the brushes I have are either too fluffy or too round and dont do the job for me as I want them. I like more of a dramatic sharp contour line and blended out on top of my cheecks for a contoured bronzed look.
On my search for the perfect contour brush I came across this brush on youtube. I follow jaclynhill on instgram and youtube and she made contour with this brush look so easy. I cant wait to get my hands on it.

    3.MAYAMIA PALETTE
Isn’t this palette the cutest 😍! If you follow Mayamia on instagram you will know she is a talented makeup artist. She recentlt collaborated with anastasia beveryhills and came up with this beautiful palette ranging from neutral to bright fun refreshing colors like the color Aqua from the palette. I do notice some familiar colors like sienna which is also in her previous lavish palette. However I am really looking into buying this palette when its launched on the website. You can create a simple day look to a dramatic night look! For a price of $29 I think it is a pretty good deal.

I do hope I manage to get the items from my wish list. I cant wait!!!!
Until next time. Stay beautiful! ✖️⚫️✖️⚫️

    Sigma eye brushes review

    Hello beauties!
Ever since I really got into makeup I wanted to own makeup brushes! There are a lot of high end brushes in the makeup industry like Mac, Tom Ford, Bobbi brown etc. I wanted some pretty good brushes without having to pay a huge sum.
Luckily a couple of months back Sigma had a free shipping worldwide offer on their website so I jumped at the opportunity and grabbed myself their eye brushes and one palette which was on a discount of 10%.
Sigma brushes are extremely soft and they are half the price of mac brushes. I have used their brushes for about four months and that is enough time to be able to give you my honest opinion on them! I promise these brushes are amazing and you wont regret a single penny you spend on them.

!!!Drums rolls!!!…… Presenting my Sigma brushes………Tadaaa!!

    20140720-090722-32842317.jpg
Sigma also sent me a gift!!

    20140720-090811-32891353.jpg
    Sigma E30-Pencil brush:
According to sigma: “Soften pencil liners along the top and bottom lash lines, add shadow to line the eyes, or use to highlight inner corner of eyes”.

This brush does exactly what is meant to do. I use this brush for smudging dark eye shadow ( i.e. MUG corrupt) on my lower lash line for that smokey effect and it does an amazing job.
Also I like to use this brush to apply dark colors on the outer corners of my eyes as well as on my crease to add depth to my eyes.

I haven’t tried this brush for the inner corner highlight since I own just one and I cant use it with all the dark colors on my brush. When I’m not lazy and finally decide to wash it (hihi) I’ll definitely try it for highlighting first thing.

    Sigma E45-Tapered blending brush:
According to Sigma: “Picking up color with just the tip of the brush, apply intense colors to the crease to add depth and dimension to the eye”.

I like to use this brush to apply dark colors to define my crease. The pointed tip allows me to apply and slightly blend the color to the crease.

    Sigma E35 Tapered blending brush:
According to sigma: “Using just the tip of the brush to pick up color, apply product directly onto the crease and sweep through. Effect is blended, but defined”.

Oh my God, I looooooove this brush. It is my favourite blending brush. I love how this brush gives me that blended effect of transition color to my crease. I sweep this brush back and forth (wind shield motion) and gives me that airbrushed finish with no harsh lines. I am so happy with this brush.

I did notice some little shedding when I first received this brush, but after washing it there was NO shedding at all. Also it got rid of that animal hair smell it had before.

    Sigma E20-Short shader brush:
According to sigma: “Concentrated color application .Apply color onto small areas of the eye such as the outer eyelid. Also use to smudge the lower lash line”.
Did I mention that I’m such a huge fan of smokey eyes. Because of that I need to have enough brushes to help me work with dark colors well. Now this guy here qualifies to be one among my favorite sigma brushes because it has stiff bristles which allows me to apply some intense dark colors concentrated just on my lower lashline. As always MUG Corrupt is my favorite, it is the blackest black eyeshadow I have ever used. I like to this brush just to apply the color corrupt on my water line and it has not disappointed me.
Also I have tried to use this brush to pack glitters & pigments and it works just fine.

    Sigma E21-Smudge brush:

According to sigma: “Apply and smudge color onto the upper and lower lash lines”.

I tried to use this brush for smudging colors on my lower lash lines I wasn’t that impressed. Its not a bad brush its just the size of this brush is so small and for smudging colors takes a long time. But I do like to use it to highlight inner corners of my eyes. its works best for me that way.

    Sigma E55- Eye shading brush:
According to sigma: “Place color across the entire lid for an even and strong application of product”.

When I first saw this brush I thought it might be big for my eyelids but its the perfect size to apply color on my big eyelids. However if you got small eyelids this brush may just be a little big for you. You can opt for E56 Shader lid its not as big as the E55 and it works the same.
Recently have I found new use for this brush. This brush is wide and dense enough so I use it to highlight my brow bone and making the highlighter color disappear into the transition shade seamlessly.

    Sigma E10- Small eyeliner:
According to sigma: “Precise application of liner. Use with gel or liquid liners”.
This is my favorite eyeliner brush for gel liners. It helps me create that perfect straight line, its oh so great. Sigma has done a great job with this brush.

    Sigma E25- Blending:
According to sigma: “Blend colors together onto the lid with added control. Buff out harsh lines for a well-blended effect”.

This is the best brush ever.! If someone hated me and throw me in a desert and I could pick just one brush, this will be IT!.(Why would someone do that hahaha). With this brush you can do your entire eye look. I love love love this brush!! I use it to pack colors on my eye lids, to smudge colors on my lower lash line for that smokey effect, to blend dark colors on my crease, whatever it is you mention this brush will do it for you!.

People say this brush is a dupe for Mac 217, I don’t own the Mac brush so I cant really say much about this. Overall the sigma E25 is my all time sigma favorite brush. I’m so happy they sent me I will definitely purchase a couple of this brush.

If you are looking for some good quality brushes without having to pay a huge sum, I highly recommend Sigma brushes. They are affordable and every month Sigma has a 10% discount on your total order and a free gift with all $30 purchases.
You can purchase your sigma brushes here. www.sigmabeauty.com

In this palette you get a total of 16 eyeshadows including matte shimmers frost etc. What I really like about this palette is that its so versatile you can create a simple day look with it and achieve a dramatic night look as well. The eyeshadows are pigmented and they blend effortlessly. To be honest I prefer this palette than the Urban decay naked palettes.
